Twilight appears as the primary central character of the fourth Equestria Girls film. At the end, Princess Twilight Sparkle from Equestria appears out of the portal, stunned to see her human friends joined by a girl who looks like her.

She also takes part in the Dance Magic music video near the end of the special. From My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree onward, she wears her hair in a ponytail as opposed to a bun. Twilight and her friends think Discord is responsible, so they summoned him for answers, but he claims he is innocent.

Like her pony counterpart, Twilight cannot bear the thought of not knowing something.

But the Princess declines her evidence, insisting that her isolated life of study is unhealthy.

Twilight is the main focus of the novel Twilight's Sparkly Sleepover Surprise.

The first volume contained 8 stories, with the first six being based on members of the Mane Six, the seventh story featuring the original character Star Dancer and the eighth story featuring Discord creating a manga-themed dimension to "mess with the Mane Six".

She has supporting or minor roles in Pet Project, Subs Rock, Leaping Off the Page, and Get the Show on the Road.

In The Canterlot Movie Club, she appears on the poster of the Daring Do movie.

Twilight is far more dramatic here than her animated counterpart, being prone to giving off highly exaggerated expressions when good or bad things happen.

The manga does not explore the other genres that Friendship is Magic is known for, such as adventure and action, though isn't devoid of such stories either. When Lord Tirek escapes from Tartarus, he begins stealing the magic from every pony in Equestria.

However, it also drains magic away, causing each of Sunset Shimmer's friends to lose their ability to pony up.
