Later, Nickelodeon produced an hour-long special retelling the second season, which premiered in 2011. This followed Nickelodeon's parent company Viacom becoming a co-owner of the Rainbow studio. The second season of Winx Club premiered in Italy on Rai 2 on April 19, 2005. It aired its season finale on July 14 of that same year.
